This was an unplanned surprise after the nearby shopping streets of Hefeng and Zhongsan. There's a lot to see here. Start with a climb of the hill (not really a mountain as the Chinese word shan suggests) so you need some level of fitness. Great views of the lake (Xihu) and some super pavilions and examples of old Chinese architecture.... More

The Park was right next to Hefeng Street and you could see many retirees doing exercises inside. Climbing uphill was not difficult as the local people used to do this activity during their spare time and you could have nice views over West Lake while you were on top of the hill. There were temples and guesthouse within the park... More

Scenic area with a lot going on. We had to slowly explore it and not all the paths are clearly marked especially since we didn't really know where we were going. However there is a lot of life here. There are also little signs to say that hiking is good for the health! There is a pavilion and old folks... More

The Wushan park area has a number of temples and a traditional style guesthouse. It has views of west lake but you want a clear day or maybe a good sunset - I had neither. For me the fun part was being able to gong the huge bell in front of the Buddhist temple (3 times for love) and inside... More

6th day @ Hangzou. Door ticket: RMB 30 We decide to take a cab as we have waited 1 hr plus for the bus to come (at Longjing tea fields) , plus it was a heavy rain day. The taxi drop us at the Wushan plaza we then have 8 minutes walking up the ramp and hill. There is not... More

Go up Wushan hill from Hefang Street like many local retirees do in the morning. The paths wind through green trees but be prepared for the barrage of portable music and gyrating seniors, each group doing their thing. But there are empty temples to explore and lonely patches of forest. Even a hall for Yoga, bird lovers' club and many... More

Excellent outing - go to HEFANG STREET - historical and cultural street at Qinghefang just off Wushan Plaza - an ancient street full of interesting little shops - haggling required in all! - and certainly worth a visit - full of tourists and tourist stuff, but a great street to wander up and down/ The Wushan plaza a bit tacky...
