This is one of the few places that I went that had 0 entrance fees! The pagoda is easy to find because it sits on top of a small hill and it is visible from the lake. All I did was walk to the hill, and I soon found a trail that led to the top. The Pagoda is made... More

Not much to see. The climb up was not too bad. The view of the lake is nice. If you are around the west lake, you might as well go see it.

Its a nice hike up. Not too difficult and doable with elementary grade children. It is a wooded area so there is a nice quite forest around you. Very good to leave the crowds behind.

Need to explore this place if you have extra time and energy left. Lot of steps to climb and can have a nice view of the west lake from the top. The walk through the jungle kinda place and exploring the temples and cave nearby is too much fun.

We went here during the Golden week, which was really a mistake. The place was so crowded, that people where stepping over each other to get to the viewing spots. There are some places with narrow steps, so it was really hard to get to the rocks with all these people pushing around you. The pagoda itself is beautiful, you... More

The Baochu Pagoda, besides West Lake and the Pagoda of Six Harmonies is the most noticeable attraction in Hangzhou. It appears beautiful from afar and is even nicer the closer you get to it. After the trek, the views are beautiful and tranquil. It was an oasis as the crowds are definitely fewer there than practically anywhere else in Hangzhou.

Baoshi hill with slim Baochu pagoda on the top is your place if you want to escape from crowds around West lake. Moreover, after the hiking up, you will be rewarded by excellent view of lake surrounded by hills and city. You can take short but steep hike mostly walk on the stairs, entrance is from Beishan road (near West... More

Baochu Pagoda, seated on Hangzhou Baoshishan Mountain, was built 1000 years ago and now is one of the city's landmarks. It has seven floors and was rebuilt many times. Apart from watching the pagoda, visitors can also appreciate the beautiful surrounding. Baoshishan Mountain is a nice place for hiking and relaxing.

Hearing the people shouting as part of tai chi while hiking up the hill in the morning to get to this pagoda is a unique experience. Not too strenuous.
