One of the few remaining old city walls. It does cost money to walk it (or bike ride it). I believe it was about $15 to go up to the wall and to walk it around the old town section of Xi'An. from the wall you can look down up on the city - both old and new sections. You... More

The climb up to the top of the city wall is worthwhile to get a panoramic view of the city itself and to view the bell tower but we did not have sufficient time to walk any more than a few yards so did not see much.

Taking a bike ride across the city wall is a fantastic way to spend a few hours of the day. You can get a great look at most of the old city.

The first I saw the wall, I think the wall is only in hundred meters, but after we arrived at location, it's amazing for us as the wall is high, wide and long enough more than 17 KMs. The wall is connecting each others and become one circle defense the city inside. There are modern city inside the city wall... More

This was an easy walk with lots of history attached to it. You can see the contrast between the old and new Xian We were fortunate to have a good weather day and good visibility

It is a great advantage to have read the history of this wall and city before setting off on your walk. Allow yourself plenty of time as it is a huge area to walk and lots to see along the way. The moat around the outside of the city wall is amazing. It was raining the day we set out... More

Only old city wall that completely well maintained in China since Tang Dynasty ; You can enjoy and walk/cycle around on the city wall itself, roughly 2 hours if cycle.

I recommend you stay within, or close to, the old city walls. The parks, Muslim Quarter, local sights, and walk around the old city wall gives a pleasant feeling about a lovely historic city. Relaxed, friendly and very touristy (and that is why I was visiting this city). My walks down the side streets, eating with the locals, people watching in... More

It was too cold the day we were there to enjoy bicycling on the wall. Besides, we didn't really have time for that. Fortunately, our tour guide that took us to the Terracotta Warriors, had time to bring us to the City Wall and get a good look at the gate. We got some nice photos and were happy we... More

The Xian city wall is a very good attraction and is not to be missed. You can hire bicycles to cycle around the walls.
