We headed to the wall around dinner time (because we ate a late lunch upon arrival in the city) so it was the perfect time! The sun was not so hot, we rented bicycles so we had a lovely breeze and a great sunset. Once...More

Do it. It is a lot of fun. We road for about 2 hours and it was a very good way to see the cities character.

The restored walls which were home to several dynastys are impressive but not really great. Inside is totally commercial. The Drum Tower and bell Tower are about it.

Absolutely do not miss a chance to ride a bike on and around the city wall. And spend your time doing it taking a lot of stops. You will have a great time and chance to see the city from up high from the wall.

Fascinating moment in time. Great architecture. Much to see & if you are tired of walking, take the golf buggy for a minimal fee to travel around the city wall. Favourite place to witness wedding photos.

Though it had earlier foundations, the wall today was built in the Ming Dynasty about 600 years ago. It encircles the old city with a length totalling 13.7km. Take metro line #2 to either the south gate station (more popular) or the north gate. Entrance...More

The scale of the wall in quite amazing, and the views around the city were so interesting. There was going to be a marathon on the wall the following day, and it was amazing to consider all the runners taking more than two tours around...More

Once you leave you cannot renter. It’s very inexpensive to get in around 8 US dollars. I would recommend renting the bikes it’s a lot of fun and you can ride at your own pace. Stopping and viewing the city it’s beautiful.

Open all the time! You now have to pay to go there. Not expensive like 10 US dollars. You can even rent bike to ride around. It is about 15 km around. Very nice!

I believe that only the South Gate is open at night. To the south of the South Gate there is a show on in the night, which could be nice to look at from the wall. I'm not sure what times it is on, but it involves some... More
