This museum is inside the grounds of Small Goose Pagoda and the entrance ticket gives access to both. The museum is well laid out and the exhibits very well curated, telling the story of ancient Xian and The Silk Road. The exhibits are beautiful and...More

One of the very informative museums in China. Artifacts of thousands year ago are preserved very well. Collected historic items from different province of China are also preserved here. There is also a sample of Silk route and other maps excavated from all over China.

This is not a very large museum, but if you like history, especially ancient history, this museum will not disappoint. The ample English-language signs help explain the exhibits and amazingly well-preserved artifacts, some more than 7,000 years old. Suddenly people from that era didn't seem...More

Really worth a visit to see some very fine ancient artefacts preserved mainly through having been left in tombs. Hard to believe the quality of some. Excellent museum leading the Small Wild Goose pagoda

I was unfamiliar with the provenance, so this provided much-needed cultural and geographical history. The recorded tour was very detailed, and the collection is so vast, you could not possibly listen to info on everything. Select wisely!

Because of free admission thing, this musuem is really crowded. I walked from small goose pagoda and after to wild goose pagoda. It is not in the city wall area. There are a lot of things to see!

We went with our travel group of 10 families this summer. Kids ranged from 5 to late teens. It was a very hot day and the museum was packed - it is air conditioned unlike most attractions near Xi'an. We were still able to get...More
