This Ancestral Shrine cum museum cum arts and crafts academy is an eye-pleasing adventure. The amazingly intricate and detailed roof carvings have so many fantastical fictional creatures that you'll lose count. The grounds and the buildings are the standard ancestral shrine layout, but this one goes further. They have a small but elegant arts museum with loads of historical items... More

The Chen Clan Academy was a beautiful museum to visit. The entry fee was very reasonable. The exhibits and art works were varied and all absolutely amazing. I was glad to have a guide with me who explained the displays in detail. The wood carving, stone carving and plaster carving on the buildings was beautiful. I loved the outdoor courtyards.

Taste of Guangdong (Southern Chinese) history. I first visited in the 90's and it has since then under-gone massive renovation / preservation for the better. Easily accessible via MTR. You'll be amazed by the craftsmanship of the decorations.

This is an ancestral temple built with funds from the Chen family. It has beautiful crafting and very interesting exhibits relating to Guangdong folk art. The exhibits are varied and beautiful. A must for culture and architecture lovers. I have been here 4 times and never get bored visiting. Next to a metro stop.

Located just next to MRT station, Line 1 Chen Clan Academy station exit D, this Ancestral Hall is very well preserved and worthy of a visit. Exquisite stone & wood carvings, with a strong architectural design of days gone by are reflected well in this magnificent building. Each wood carvings on wall panels tells a tale of Chinese folklore or... More
