Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

When Guangzhou's metropolitan bust becomes unbearable, this is the perfect solution. People's Park is a pleasant urban greenery right at the heart of the city. Modeled after Rome's Villa Borghese, it has a unique European flair comparable to Shamian. A stroll is simply relaxing here.

Lots of people out dancing, some taking lessons, families enjoying a picnic outing, nice sculptures, nice flower displays, but not so clean public washrooms.

We went for a nice stroll in the Guangzhou City's People's park. It was surprisingly clean and vast. Lots of trees and the place is well maintained.

SWMBO and I went out on a baking hot afternoon to visit the GuangZhou Commune (TA reviewed). It just so happens we had to walk all the way through this park from the north to south gates, so I took it as an opportunity to take a few photos. We’ve walked through the park many times but I never considered taking photos!

We took the #124 bus and got off in Jiefang North Road and crossed over the foot bridge, in the past we’d pop into the Synwin Music shop so I could ogle the musical instruments and stroke their cat but it closed its doors and pulled the shutters down for the last time a few months ago. Such a shame!

We turned left and strolled along Fuquian Road and then crossed the road and entered the park by the north gate opposite the very nice government building. No entrance fee or id check. We then strolled along the central path to the south gate. We ducked into the music pavilion to avoid a few spots of tropical rain.

There are a few statues scattered around the park with a nice cooling fountain in the centre. There were groups of people singing and dancing. Men and women sitting on benches and reading, fiddling with their mobiles, while others just sat. Nothing special, just a very nice park where people can go an relax in the middle of a bustling metropolis.

There are clean toilets by the east gate.

In a few minutes we were at the south gate where a group of ladies were dancing. I say gate but there’s no gates just pillars. Next to the south gate is the GongYuanQian metro station.

Now it was forward brothers to the GuangZhou Commune!

The park offers a good place to relax, sit on one of the many benches, dance, play games, take your dog for a walk, have a leisurely walk, admire the roots and trunks of trees over 100 years old, enjoy the flowers and greenery, use the public washrooms, and more. Throughout the 48,400 square metre park, there are many photo ops. Today many people were using the Chinese New Year decorations as a backdrop for photos.
