Nothing really special here. But after all the hustle and bustle of Guangzhou's vibrant shopping districts, this area is a rather tranquil and serene hangout for visitors looking for a quiet stroll along the little canals, small antique shops (at least that is what they say they sell...) as well as cafes and curio shops. Interrupting the tranquility are only... More

It's a good place to spend couple of hours and enjoy a stroll, however if you go when the lychee is out of season it wouldn't be that exciting or special

I didn't know about Li Zhi Wan , to give it its Chinese name, until we went there yesterday despite living here for over 10 years! My wife says she knew about it but I'm inclined to take that with a pinch of salt. We took the No. 2 bus to the bus station near the park, the 66 also... More

It's a big park. Lots of things to see. Family oriented. Hard to find parking though. We just walked around and enjoyed the architecture and beauty of the park.

I've seen much nicer canal-based areas. The water still needs cleaning up and foot access is a little cramped as many places are in Guangzhou but that is also a function of population.

There are lots of modern and popular attractions in Guangzhou and people almost forget this is an old city with 2000 years history. The lychee bay shows the origin Guangzhou or Canton. It was a water town with a network of streams. It used to be a place where most of the trade business happened in China more than 100... More

A bay of canals with it's name originated from lychee trees being planted along the banks of the bay in the olden days. Nothing much to see except some small canals that resemble. sewage drains. Quite a clean & safe place to stroll around.

Nice place for a walk in the evening, or early morning. There is also a nice garden where there are people exercising together during peak hours. At 2pm, there is also traditional opera performance which is harder and harder to see in china already!

Lychee Bay is in XiGuan area. The wealthy lived here a long time ago. Although some of the nice classic houses are gone the character of the area is still there. Now there are nice newer apartments along the Bay, sometime events are still held there. The bay is connected to Liwan Lake Park. Plenty of photo opportunities, bring a... More

It consists some old buildings and a park. Full of natures, quiet and less crowd that is good for a walk and relax. We spent time there to walk, and take some photo. There are also some shops for your to get souvenirs and some local and traditional snacks/food. A good place to escape from the busy town.
