The place is between Tianhe and Haizuh districts on an island in the middle of the river. The musical hall and a museum are located here with exceptional designed architecture. The parks are neetly arranged and playground for the small and adults adjoin to each other. Along the river a promenade invites for a nice walk enjoying opposites' Haizhu's skyline.... More

We walked around here, mostly along the river. There is not much here, and I mean that in a good way, unless you want to play tennis, badminton or football (soccer); however, if you just want to stroll along the water, it is extremely peaceful. There are a few neighborhoods with actual houses (not apartments). It was fascinating to take... More

The landscaping of this place is beautifully crafted. Greens and flowers are well-maintained. This is a good place for morning/evening walk and family outing. Cycling around this area is a popular option.

This is a little oasis in town, low density, buildings are low-rise. There is a large patch of greens in the middle, with a major state-run art gallery and a music hall, this is a place to come to relax, whether on foot by the river bank or simply having a cup of coffee or a croissant.

If you want a nice stroll through manicured gardens and or riverside, hire a bike, find a decent children's playground Er Sha is the spot. You get quite a good view of the city from here, and coming over at night time gives yet another perspective, many of the tall city buildings have lights that come on about 6.30pm, as... More

Ersha island has some nice parks, lots of overpriced compounds and too many foreigners to count... the location is of course top but getting on and off the island is often combined with lots of swearing in traffic jams fighting with people who think wechat is more important as driving during peak times.

Frankly speaking, the island is not an attraction, but the history of its formation as well as it's current upscale status always getting popularity. The name of the island is Chinese is a piece do island making up by sand, which actually sits as esturary of JuJiang low stream and consolidated by flows of sand and mud in years, eventually... Quiet and relaxing place in the midle of the city chaos. I use to go there by bike, or walk around on weekends, enjoy luch in one of the many restaurants and spend some time by the river.

It seems strange to say, but Central guangzhou has an Island oasis that is quite literally the only place in the city that offers a World Class Art museum, spectacular (and quiet) park, great Western and Cantonese dining, and reasonably convenient transportation. This is an absolute must see solace for those who have been in Guangzhou for some time, and... More
