Close to the center of the city the station is a beautiful reminder of the re-birth and reconstruction of the city after the most terrible devastation.

I am not a big friend of railway stations. Volgograd Railway Station looks like classical Soviet building. It is not good, neither bad, but it is working anyway. The staff is now more friendly than in the old Soviet time.

Arrived at the Volgograd railway station by train, large clean and spacious Soviet era railway station. Albeit with tight security. Nice fountain in front of station.

It is heavily guarded after the terrorist suicide attack here. Now the building is renovated, very modern and nice place to spend the few hours before your train.
