The hike up to the Motherland sculpture takes you through the Battle Memorial. It is a lovely hike through a manmade sculpted canyon, with benches, ponds and fountains on the way up.

This is the bottom of memorial complex Mamaev Kurgan where we start to think what had happened here in 1942-1943. It is high relief. Already at the firs step you understand that soon you'll see something special

Great place to relive history and analyze history from the soviet perspective, a thing in the West would not fully understand due to the suffering and loses that the CCCP and its population went through. Great museum, exhibitions and location.

The introduction to the Mamayev memorial, across the road from the high speed tram station. Several drink vendors available before you start climbing.
