There are a lot of statues in Irkutsk, but I like that a city remembers its history in this way. You can learn a lot by vieweing these.

Great statue of Alexander III near the river, certainly worth a look. We were lucky enough to be there when a couple of Soldiers in Dress Uniforms marched up with the Banner of the Romanov Tsars and paid respect to the statue.

This monument of Russian Emperor Alexander III is located in a nice park on the shores of Angara River. It's quite big and imposing. Yet, other than its location (which is hard to miss), it's no different than any other statutes or monuments

Apart from the monument to Russian tsar which is an attraction, the area around including Gagarin boulevard, and walking park by the river is a good place (even in winter) to spend time.

The statue is of Czar Alexander III, but the tribute is to the incredible work of engineers and laborers who built the amazing railway. Location of the monument is also a great location for viewing the river and city.

Irkutsk has great monuments and little parks. This one has nice views of the river. Walking is a joy in Irkutsk.

This is a nice statue and worth visiting. There is a great view of the statue from further up Karla Marksa Street. And around sunset there is a great view of it from this street.
