In October 2014 we travelled the Trans Mongolian route Moscow - Beijing. Our trip was organised by Rusrailtravel. We enjoyed it and promised ourselves another Russian railway adventure. During February and March 2017 the promise was fulfilled. The primary objective was to visit Yakutsk and travel to Vladivostok via the Baikal Amur Mainline (BAM). After a couple of weeks of... More

After planning for around ten months for this trip to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary we were finally boarding the Golden Eagle luxury Trans-Siberian train for twelve nights travelling westwards from Vladivostok to Moscow. The journey started with a band playing on the platform – lovely start on a cold winter’s night. We booked a Gold Class cabin which had... More

I was a little apprehensive about travelling from Vladivostok to Moscow on the Trans Siberian on my own but I couldn't have felt safer. The train was wonderful. Each Carriage has 2 Carriage Attendants, they don't speak English but they were lovely. The experience was wonderful. My cabin was so cosy. I bought 2 berths in the 1st Class Cabin... More

I travelled from St Petersburg to Beijing via the trans-Manchurian line this January. It was something I had always wanted to do, but I had actually been put off a little by some horror stories from a family friend about when he went on the trans-Mongolian in the height of summer. These fears turned out to be entirely groundless! I... More

This past summer we took our daughter and future son-in-law for a round the world trip, flying from New York City to Moscow where we spent a day touring the city with a wonderful guide arranged by Andrei of RusRailTravel. Then with his excellent help we then boarded the Trans-Siberian Railroad and traveled for several days (with a couple of... More

We booked with Flower Travel in Melbourne after much hesitation due to the fact most of the information we could source was scarce on specific detail and some people come via Moscow to Beijing and we wanted to go the other way - We travelled Beijing to Moscow then on to St Petersburg during winter 2016 All Trains were on... We were a little concerned about getting through the station at Beijing and finding the right train but it was surprisingly easy. Just showing passports and tickets at one of the outside windows (it didn't seem to matter which one - or perhaps we were just luck) then going through security. Once in the very grand station building display boards... More

Did the Trans Mongolian Moscow to Beijing via Mongolia over Christmas last year and would say was best trip of life (so far!). Absolutely amazing experience, was travelling with a friend from London to Australia who had the idea of going as far as possible just by trains. I went as far as Bangkok and my friend travelled on through... More

We took the Tsar's Gold private train from Beijing to Moscow in September 2016, choosing this time to see the autumn colours in Siberia. We booked through Trans-Siberian specialists Flower Travel in Melbourne Australia who also obtained the required visas. Their organisation was superb and everything happened as planned without a hitch. The train is not “luxurious” but quite comfortable,... More
