Was taken here by a colleague to see A Midsummer Nights Dream in the main Theatre. Such an amazing place to see the ballet.

Go early. Before the performance, walk the ground. Find the gents and the ladies. Above all, find the cafe and book a table, snack and drink for the interval. Most performances in the old theatre have two intervals of about thirty minutes each. There are...More

There are two Mariinsky Theatres: the old and the new. TripAdvisor does not separate the two, which offer totally different experiences. So this review is of two separate structures, since we attended performances at both, on successive nights. Mariinsky I This is the historic theatre....More

Absolutely worth the money (although it isn't expensive compared to Western European prices for opera tickets). We saw a wonderful rendition of Puccini's La Boheme, sung brilliantly and a beautiful decor as well. Really cool.

It is said that this is the second best ballet company in the world, after the Bolshoi of Moscow. I am no judge, but the ballet performance was amazing. It was performed in a traditional (old style) and intimate theater venue. We were spoiled with...More

We have been there half a year ago, but I still remember how fantastic it was! Slight drawback is the seats, they were very uncomfortable for seating 3 hours performance

Visited this beautiful old theatre on Russias Christmas Day. Beautiful auditorium and the ballet we saw was incredible.. had tears in my eyes a couple of times at the Beauty of this adaptation on the Nutcracker.

And to be blunt my last, did not enjoy it at all, aside from the music which was stunning. We attended the nutcracker on our St. Petersburg trip. We were front and center, 8 rows back as we had arranged tickets online far in advance...More

Dear Fellow Traveller - Unfortunately there are no tours for the public. You need to possess a ticket for a running show to enter and witness the grandeur of the theatre.
