Walking up and Down the embankment during my 3 month stay in St. petersburg was like a trip back in time. This really is the "old world". The Russians display so much heritage and style in the details of their buildings.
The Moika embankment is a good alternative to the streets or even the Neva embankment to move from the Nevsky area to the Cathedral of the Spilled Blood. Nice views and a number of cafés and restaurants.
It is impossible not to like small bridges over the Moika River, so famously reflected in Russian literature. It's beautiful at sunset, magic at sunrise, not so during the rain.
Plenty of photo opportunities! The life is centered around the water, enjoy!
