This is the monument which represents the beginning of the 1917 Revolution, when Lenin announced his return from exile and was one of the first monuments to be erected after his death. Found in front of Finland Railway Station.

Not many Lenins are left, bit this site is just too historical. Ideal quick stop if tour are doing a metro tour anyway, or if you have to be at the Finland station.

Iconic statue of Lenin at Findlandsky station, where he arrived from exile in 1917. Sense of history is palpable here and along with the Spilled Blood, will be my abiding memory of St Petersburg.

These statue was one of the things, which brought me to Petersburg, former Leningrad. Terrible, that due to egoistic revisionism the CCCP broke down.
