A beautiful building containing folk art from around Russia. There is limited signage in English but I did not find this a problem. I wanted to see the folk art and admire its design and craftsmanship. I did not have any problem getting close to...More

This museum is just fantastic! Very well curated, offering insight into the many, many ethnicities that make up Russia. English signage is excellent-no, it may not be a translation of all the Russian, but it’s not only on information plaques, but also on the glass....More

There was a lot of information and many costumes on display in this museum, however the English translations were quite limited in places, so it was difficult to get much out of the experience. Where there were translations at the start of the rooms, the...More

Going into this museum, one realizes that Russia, though all ages, became a big melting pot of different cultures and nations. Very interesting.

Some of the exhibition halls were closed for renovation/redecoration, but even those that were open were very education and well worth a visit! Get one of the guided tours if you can so you can learn about the exhibits, which are not always well described...More

I went here straight from the Russian museum. The two pair really well. Not much Russian available (I speak a smattering) but the display is fascinating even without any Russian. A great experience after the overwhelming grandeur of other places in the city.
