Impressive dome. The gold roofing in st Petersburg is unique and beautiful. Very ornate inside and how it was built at the time is cool. As Kevin Costner once said: “if you build it, they will pray.”

We didn’t go inside, but the outside is outstanding. The gilded dome is loosely based on St Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican, on a smaller scale, the overall impression is powerful.

Got there by a Sightseeing bus. A little bit expensive for international tourists, but still worth it. Couldn't believe there were 3 churches on this site before the final one. AMAZING!!!

This cathedral has an observation deck located at the heigh around the main dome. The view is amazing: all the city is visible from there.

This great piece of religious architecture has a lot to go for. From its magnificent exterior to the superb interior with great paintings and murals and the climb to the high roof when you have magnificent views of the St.Petersbourg buildings and landscape

We toured St Isaac's Cathedral as part of the Alla Tours St Petersburg 2-Day Must See tour, and it was amazing. The opulence was incredible with fabulous mosaics, gold, semi-precious columns of lapis lazuli and malachite, and artwork throughout. As our guide, reminded us, beware...More
