Not so classical this time. We heard "tango music" by Gershwin, Piazzolla, Gardel. The saxophone by Federico Mondelci was the best I have heard, and the same goes to the spread by Gianni Iorio. Also the orchestra was splendid. An interesting concert, and the audience was lively and enthusiastic. It is not very easy to orientate in the fine building,... More

This is classic and traditional music hall. Some musicians has admired the acoustic of the hall as a one of the best. Prices of tickets were reasonable.

We got to be there for the evening of organ music, and it was wonderful. I just wish there were more people in the audience who could have enjoyed organ in the non-church environment.

We went there for the premiere of the Philharmonic season. Music was great, and it was nice to see the local people attending the concert (most of the people were locals there). The venue itself is good, but not especial or much sophisticated.

The Great Hall of Philharmonic is a beautiful place to see - even without the music. However, find a concert you are interested in, and try to get ticket. There are also very cheap last minute tickets, where you can sit any available seat.

One of the most amazing symphonies I've been to in many years. The venue is beautiful. The music was awesome. Loved it!

I was first hesitate to do this as there aren't many reviews on TA. The Mikhailovsky didn't have any programs during our stay in St. Petersburg, so we decided to give this a try and weren't disappointed. The building itself doesn't look so grand from the outside, but once you step inside, it's beautiful. I don't think acoustic is as... More

Our future daughter in law had arranged two tickets for us. Outside it had started to snow and the cold was biting. But what a way to warm ourselves listening to the orchestra conducted by Ainars Rubikis. The guest solo cellist that evening was Sol Gabetta, an up and coming star. One negative for those used to full bar service... More

We heard a wonderful concert in this hall. The seats are uncomfortable and crammed together so you have little room. For the price of tickets they should do better. Avoid the restaurant downstairs in the theatre, it is overpriced and the food is very mediocre.

the website is really unhelpful - neither the incredibly helpful staff on the Pushka Inn desk nor us could make it work. And if you book in person in Nevsky Prospect office, You get charged literally twice as much for being a foreigner. But take a chance and turn up at the door. It's HUGE so you will often get...
