We went to see St Isaacs Church Square a good size allowing plenty of tourists busses to park, in the middle of the square is a bronze statue of Nicholas 1 on horseback across the road is St Isaacs Cathedral/meseum. Worth a look.

Huge satues with fountains stand in front if this stunning cathedral. Such a pretty place to explore. We are certainly glad this church wasn't made into a skating rink or indoor pool.

This church is beautiful. I was so impressed with the paintings on the walls and ceiling. They were so brilliant. The stained glass at the alter was breath taking. Another beautiful church in St. Petersburg.

In between Catherine's Palace and our canal ride, we had almost an hour to kill. Being in St. Isaacs Square was a great chance. We were there on the day to celebrate the siege of Leningrad. The Russian people were out in force carrying large...More
