Nice museum situated in idyllic setting. Many old houses, buildings and churches to visit. Combione with a trip to St. George Monastery which is about a 10 minute walk down the road, Easily reachable on city Bus route 7A from Veliky Novgorod.

This museum of wooden houses and churches is well-maintained and continues to be well-maintained, with extensive on-going renovation. Thus, not everything is open for tours at this time, and the renovation of the large church not due to be completed until June 2019. This museum...More

About 90% under restoration including the main attraction the largest structure. A church. A big disappointment but the few places five or six are really great. Don't don't know if I would waste the time or money as an independent traveler to do it again....More

This is a must must see in Oslo. More than 100 houses united from different regions of Norway. Some from the XVII century makes it one of the most beautiful outdoors museums in the world.

This was a very interesting place. I was impressed with how well thought-out the peasant's homes were and loved to see the beautiful carvings put on the buildings' exteriors. The homes and churches are wooden and rustic, but do not be deceived into thinking that...More

Good exhibition, you can look how live our ancestors, but! More than 50% buildings under construction now, but you will know about it only after you payed money. At the same time good support from attending personnel when you ask questions (in Russian of course).

Some of the oldest buildings in Russia are found here. So interesting to see recreations of both rich and poor styles of houses too.
