On the day we visited, there were many people worshipping at a service. It was beautiful to watch the old women light their candles and pray. This is a beautiful church which is being restored so it is not possible at the moment t walk all the way around it. Trailing wires and frayed mats also mean you have to be a bit wary. No photography allowed. The iconostasis is exquisite and all the icons seem to be in very good condition. Coaches drop visitors off... More

This church is on the way to the giant statue and only a few hundred steps from the lighthouse commemorating the sailors lost at sea. The church is very attractive and has many icons and reliquaries inside.
