Ostankino TV tower - the highest point in Moscow. From viewing platforms open most brilliant panoramic views of the capital. From a vantage point 337 meters of the capital lies at a glance: Here Lomonosov Moscow State University University, Christ the Savior Cathedral, the Kremlin towers, the complex "Moscow City". Afternoon - the best time to make a photographic miniatures of the city, take a walk on the glass floor and try out our binoculars and telescopes. In the evening, you can leisurely look at the bizarre shapes of the city lights, sitting in a high-altitude restaurant "Seventh Heaven", which rotates around its axis. It is interesting to walk around the tower. In addition to the beautiful "Ostankino" Museum-Estate with park and ancient palaces, here it is worthy of attention "Exhibition of Economic Achievements." Ostankino Tower is among the ten highest free-standing buildings of the world. Today it is not only unique in the signal power radio and television transmitting station, and meteorological observatory, a giant lightning rod, and, of course, one of the most recognizable symbols of Moscow. From an architectural point of view it is a flower that grows out of the heavens. It is weighty "petals" on the ground, holding a thick but relatively easy "stem." This is a very bold in its design structure: the base of the tower - only 4.6 meters deep. At the same time its height - 540 meters. The real revolution in the construction of high-rise! At the time of opening in 1967 it was the tallest building in the world and held this position for 10 years. Climbing the legendary tower already made tens of millions of people.

First let me say the most security I’ve ever gone through for anything! Worth it. Breathtaking views of the city. We opted to have dinner which was lovely. The dining floor roared around the city as you eat. Beautiful time with friends.

This is pricey (1,000 Rubbles per person) and security is a process but the view, on a clear day, is great. There are two observation levels. The first has a portion of the floor made of glass panels for those braver than me who want...More

Runs about $18/adult, but is discounted to $11 if you reserve a ticket online between 10 and 11 am. The day we went in May, the first half of the day was sold out by the night before, so do not assume that you can...More

Although not so easy to get to by public transport (it involves a lot of walking), it is worth the visit. Getting tickets is a bit messy as you have to go out of your way to the ticket office. You also need valid ID....More

My view on towers remains the same. Architecturally, they offer nothing substantial. They are erected because they just want to... In an era where TV towers had to be high enough to transmit signals, the utility was still there. So, now you have the highest...More

The best view point of Moscow. Go in the morning - the price is better, and take an id with you, because they won't let you in without one: the tower is a "strategic object", they said. The security is on many levels and more...More

We did it with some family members visiting Moscow. The views are amazing. I wouldn't recommend Ostankino TV Tower as one of the things one has to do on their first trip to Moscow, save that for some other time as it's a bit off...More
