Strongly recommended while visiting Moscow
Apr. 2019
This is a strongly recommended evening out amongst Muscovites - there were few tourists here when we attended. This is a huge, beautiful concert hall a couple of Metro stops outside the centre of Moscow. Turn up early to buy a drink and snack at the bar - small savoury or sweet pastry treats before the performance or during the interval are all part of the Moscow theatre experience. Afterwards we had dinner in the Cafe Tchaikovsky - excellent food and service.

Great musical performance...

Tickets in the God's are very reasonably priced and you still get the full sound effect.

Last time, I sat in the 2nd row so I can say for sure. Pick any row but, sit in the middle !

Wonderful dance show !

A typically sized theatre - very nice inside. The chairs are pretty good actually. Getting a drink at the interval is a little lively.

The orchestra sit on a balcony on the right hand side so mics and speakers are used to good effect.

The Russians really know how to do performing arts !!!

TICKETS - YOU SHOULD BE SO LUCKY
Jan. 2018 • Couples
Moscow trip planned months in advance,so I wanted to book tickets for a few shows. Not a hope in hell here, tried all ways.Contacted them directly, also used Social Media, and tried through Bigbilet...No responses apart from a rude reply from Bigbilet. So we waited until we arrived and yes as we expected all sold out.Calamitous disappointment.

A great concert hall.
Oct. 2017 • Couples
While not too central nor close to a Metro station, this is a lovely concert hall and we enjoyed a great concert with wonderful seats, great acoustics and a rather cheap price (roughly 30 US$ per ticket).
A perfect way to spend an evening.

Stavanger Symphony Orchestra at Tchaikovsky Concert Hall
Apr. 2017 • Friends
At times it is hard to express something beautiful one has experienced. So I have some challenges to put words on the fantastic concert we enjoyed yesterday at Tchaikovsky Concert Hall here in Moscow. A visit by the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra with their conductor Christian Vasquez in addition on their tour joined with the Armenian violinist Sergey Khachaturian who performed in MAX BRUCH violin concert. This is Bruch's most famous composition and one of the most popular violin concerts. Bruch revised his violin concert two years after his introduction in 1866. The concert immediately became so popular that it overshadowed all other works Bruch wrote. The violin concert consists of three sets. The first batch of the concert is a prelude for the following adagio, where Bruch's melodic year flows at its best. The slow second sentence is often admired for its melody and is considered to be the heart of the concert. Even though the concert has many deviations from the classic concert form, it still appears with a classical ideal filled with romantic outbreaks within clear limits. In the final sentence, the soloist's virtuoso qualities are challenged with a number of figurations that are partially technically difficult, and partly exploit the possibilities of violin games to surprise the audience. The performance by Sergey Khachaturian overshadows all I have heard before by a violinist.

In addition to this the orchestra performed FELIX MENDELSSOHN famous Musical voyage from Scotland - the Overture to the Hebrides’s and we really got to experience ANTONIN DVORAKS music. Typical Czech / Bohemian, but it's a fact that he - unlike, for example, Smetana - does not make use of his native country's folk music, but instead writes melodies in national style, and with his own feel. Perhaps this is the reason why Dvorak's music has become more international than Smetanas - and more loved around the rest of the world? The 8th symphony was composed at the height of Dvorak's career after a very successful summer vacation. He writes: My head is so full of ideas! Could I just write them down as soon as they appear! The basic mood is much brighter than in the previous symphonies, and the play has often been called Dvorak's Pastoral Symphony. The Dvora’s moods are really taken to its highest level by the orchestra’s conductor Christian Vasquez manage to bind together each individual instrument so their performance are world class. The communication between each individual musician, as well their communication with their conductor, lifts their skills level and joy to the public. What a shame this orchestra not belong in Moscow but in another of our home towns, Stavanger. We have to wait some time until next time we can enjoy this fantastic orchestra.

See the Moiseyev Dancers here!
Feb. 2016 • Couples
We attended this hall 2 times and love it! It isn't huge and is located a few steps from the Metro exit. If you can, buy tickets for a performance of the Moiseyev Dancers here. We think they are the best in the world!

Must-go place for music lovers
Jan. 2016 • Friends
Amazing concert hall for those who appreciate classical music. It has such an unique vibe and sound acoustics. There are tons of incredible concerts by best musicians offered there. You will also enjoy the buffet. Not necessarily because of food (it's overpriced just like at any theatres) but because it reminds me of soviet cafeterias. It's simple and cosy.
