We visited the iconic supermarket in Moscow on Tverskaya street (No.14). Eliseevsky Store" was opened in Moscow in 1901. It is a luxurious food store. It is 11 minutes’ walk from the Four Seasons Hotel (Red Square). It is a beautiful 18th-century mansion with glittering chandeliers selling Russian delicacies of chocolates & caviar. The interior design makes you feel you are in a palace. It is open 24/7. I have seen old stores but nothing resembling the architectural exuberance of this art deco interior. It is simply fascinating. The wooden shelves are topped with ornate signs reading the contents of the products bellow. I could spot Конфитес for candies, шоколад for chocolate and many others. The chandeliers are huge and provide enough light for the large hall. Contemporary freezers display an array of sea products in immaculate packages. On a separate hall boasting a fresco allegory there is a display of hundreds of bottles of wines and spirits from around the globe; farther in a regular sized room porcelain crystal and ceramic are displayed. Definitely worth a visit! I bought a delicious litre of mango nectar of a brand I had not seen in other supermarkets; expensive but worth for every mililitre.…
