This church at Cathedral Square is most notable for what lies underneath it - the burial grounds of most of Russia's rulers up until the 1690s - as well as the muraled walls showing who lies beneath.

Though definitely a sobering experience, it is nonetheless memorable one to visit the Cathedral of the Archangel. Built in the early 1500s, it is beautifully decorated inside with brown and goldish tones, and is home to the tombs of a number of the czars (tsars)...More

I have referred to this cathedral as the Westminster Abbey of Russia due to the large number of Tsars who are entombed here. It's certainly not larger than some of the other cathedrals we visited, and it's also not the grandest, but there was something...More

Very beautifull from the outside. Inside again the same with staff. Not bothered at all. Only show the ticket. The only interesting is that is the place that most of the noble and well known Russian people are burried. The building was partly renovated.

This church on the grounds of the kremlin is a necropolis for many important figures in Russian history - namely housing Ivan the terrible. Definitely worth visiting when in the walls of the kremlin. Your ticket to the kremlin gains you access.

Quite nice inside. The Kremlin is full of cathedrals and there are many others to see outside the Kremlin that don't include overcrowded photo takers.

Built in 1505, this site was the burial place for Moscow’s princes and stars from 1440. The tombs are made of white stone with bronze covers. The walls, pillars, and domes are covered with superb frescoes painted 1652-1666. There are over 60 full length idealized...More

This is the burial place of the czars and it is amazing! The coffins are huge - they must have been very tall people!
