There are not many similar objects you can visit, especially if they are located in the centre of the city, 65 meters below the streets. The place has interesting history and for many years it was a secret place, perfectly masked by an ordinary building...More

Not so much to see, interesting introduction movie with footage of nuclear testing but not much information as to how the bunker was to be used etc. Tour was brief and not that detailed. Expensive for what it is but recommended if money is no...More

10 min walk from Taganskaya metro station. English tour at 1.30pm, cost is 2200 rbls (approx £27), so not cheap. Tour lasts approx 1/1.5hr. Involves walking down 18 flights of stairs, unless to are unable to walk there is a small lift. Interesting to see...More

I’m not reviewing the content of Bunker 42. We didn’t actually get in. Our error was miscalculating the time on the Metro to the nearest station, the walk to the bunker, the return journey got our scheduled 3pm Kremlin tour. We arrived at the bunker...More

We hoped to visit a Cold War museum as we couldn’t fit in the English tour, but it appears you can only visit as part of a tour. Long wasted trip!

Fascinating insight into the Soviet side of the Cold War. They used the Metro as a bluff for building the bunker, which in reality was only used once during the Cuban missile crisis. The English speaking guide was very good and it is well worth...More

We hear so much of the Cold War story from America so seeing the other side was interesting. Its 18 floors underground and there is only a very small life. Most people will have to walk down and then up the stairs

Simple fantastic, you can travel to cold war times, experience that period. But you have to down many floors/stairs and in the final you hat to go up stairs and it's not easy for a fat boy like me. But it was an incredible visit.

Very interesting place to visit and feel the spirit of Soviet era guided by a knowledgeable guide. Wish we had a chance to spend more time to explore the bunker. Disappointed with the service in the restaurant: the waitress was extremely rude. It might be...More
