Really like it...you can see how people live before (house and conditions), have possibility to make photo in costums, on little river or lake- you can try yourself floating in wooden boat

Really worth to have a visit there if u r interested with Russian historical architecture. But definitely you must have a tour guide as it far from town. I think it's better if u come during spring.

It is not so interesting from the point of historic knowledge, but very good for relaxation during hot or warm weather: large space with a lot of greenery helps you to spend some time while seeing some examples of 19-20 century provincial architecture.

Visited the museum of wooden architecture for the day from yaroslavl and found it to be a nice change from the usual suspects that we had been visiting (mainly churches) it is set in an area with nice scenery with a river where there is boating, you can enter the wooden houses and other wooden buildings to see how the people... I wish we weren't in the town for literally a couple of days only - this place is like a real village, with all kinds of old buildings standing along a small winding river (where you can rent a boat). The admission price was ridiculously low for such a gem, I think it was 50 roubles. If I lived in... More

My family and I visit every time we come to Kostroma. It's very beautiful and scenic as well as interesting. We have young children and they enjoy it very much. We love taking family photos here.

liked the place - even in winter it was nice to walk through old wooden buildings drowning in snow. But when you get in (note - not all buildings are open in winter) you feel it alive, unlike many museums. Maybe that's because all buildings used to be a home for real people - you can read even their names... More

Personally, I enjoy traditional wooden architecture but this exhibition surprises by the number of exhibits. There you can find old wooden churches, mills and the whole street of wooden houses ranging from very poor to very rich. Expierenced guides will tell you interesting stories about life in medieval Russia. You will be able to see geniune things and furniture used... More

A visit to this place makes you really wanna go back in time where you could be surrounded by serene artistic natural beauty instead of concrete jungles. Beautiful cottages from different parts of history adorn this estate, offering a glimpse into the life people led then.
