This is the old and traditional cemetery of the city Cluj; you can find here the evolution of the local society; many nice monuments but also very common grave stones; impressive multicultural site.

The cemetery is enormous! You could get lost in there for hours, just walking along the grave sites. Find the map at the entrance to go on a hunt for the oldest graves!

Worth a visit to walk about and notice the very old (some go back almost 400 years!!) tombstones. Discover traditions that go back to the roots of beliefs of vampirism, etc. Quite unique.

I visited relatives buried here at this cemetery. It is a very intriguing place. Some of the the burial sites are more then 500 years old. It is very well kept. The only problem is parking at he cemetery, or parking near by.

If you are not afraid of tombstones, trees and singing birds, this is one of the most peaceful and relaxing places in the city. Yes, it is a graveyard, but it is full of old and very interesting monuments, huge trees, manny flowers, birds and bees.

There's a lot of great art in this cemetery, which has to be among the most beautiful I've ever seen. Because it's so green and quiet, the atmosphere is not unpleasant like in other cemeteries and you can have a walk during which you can discover both the resting places of famous people and amazing artwork, some as old as... The place is quite :)), and also you can see several sculptures made by important artists in Romania. In Cluj Napoca, people consider a cemetery a place to have a walk, a place to relax! You must see it cause you won't feel like a in cemetery, you will have the sensation that you are in a special park with... More

The Cluj Central Cemetery (Hazsongard Cemetery) is not nearly as well 'manicured' as are other cemeteries I've visited. However, this in no way detracts from its beauty. It's a cemetery that seems to be comfortably at one with its natural surroundings. It's absolutely enormous and from the main entrance, it seems to extend in only one direction: up! After nearly...
