Approximately 80 km from Cluj-Napoca there is this spectacular waterfall that is worth visiting! The view from the bottom is really nice and you can get quite close to it but there is also a climbing path to reach the top of the fall. The area is worth seeing as well because it is beautiful (the forest is really nice and there is a mountain spring) and the main advantage is that there are paths and roads that will take through the area (accessible by car but I recommend to also walk round to enjoy the sights). You can get with your car quite close of the waterfall (around 2 km) and the road is OK.

Great place close to Cluj city. I like this place specially in the winter time when the water si frozen and you can actually can climb the ice.

A place like Tolkien would design...it`s mysterious , yet peaceful, beautiful yet imposing and intimidating.

Nice place for a day trip. The road up to the fall is in good condition so that's a bonus. We took a longer walk upstream and found some very beautiful sceneries. definitely want to visit the place again.

Brides Veil is a spectacular watherfall locatet at aprox. 80km from Cluj-Napoca and can be reached by car(around 1 hour and 30 minutes of driving. It's best to be visited in May, when the wather volume it's at maximum.

We drive to the waterfall from Cluj through Huedin. The trip took approx 1.5 hours. The roads are excellent up to Huedin but from then on watch out for a few pot holes and oncoming traffic (the road narrows). The car park is 10 minutes walk from the waterfalls. The walk is an easy hike along a stream and trees covered in moss on one side and sheer cliffs on the other. A wooden platform allows you to cross the waterfall and take nice pictures. You can also walk a further 10 minutes and view the fall from the top but in the absence of a barrier you would need to watch young kids. A cross signifying someone who fell and died is a stark reminder. The falls were worth the 70km drive from Cluj especially if you stop at Huedin on the way home to see the gypsy palaces.

July 2018: Oke me and my boyfriend got at 3 pm at the location and started our hike. The short route was closed, because it was to dangerous. It rained so much the past few days, that it was way to slippery to walk that way. So we decided to take the longer one. BIG MISTAKES WERE MADE! The route started easy, but halfway the ground was slippery and you really needed to be careful. We needed to climb rocks, walk over trees WHILE EVERYTHING WAS WET! Well after 3 hours we got there, and we started our way down. Halfway down it became dark, what made the climb more scarier (there was a board, that there were bears in the woods. They were higher in the forest, but still..) After 1,5 hours we were back down, glad to be oke.

The nice watterfall is situated in the Apuseni Mountains, at about 80 km from Cluj-Napoca. It can be visited both in summer. In the winter, when its freezes becoming an excellent place climbing.

I've been there several times, I like it because is very accessible by car compared with other falls from Romania.
The fall if very beautiful and refreshing, the water flow is really big.
Also I like it because is located in a mountain area, fresh air, you can hear the river flowing and the birds singing, you can do great pictures. Also from there are some hiking trails(about 1,5-3hours), lots of nice houses to rent and just relax.
The distance from Cluj-Napoca is~80 km, about 1,5 hours by car.
Definitely worth's the visit!

If you go there with car, you can drive just 50 meters from the fall. Route was not in very good shape in the end. During our visit it was a quiet Place, there was only a couple of people visiting there. Go and see if you have a change!

And , do you require a guide to get to the falls or it's an easy path to follow?

Just by car, no bus. The road is destroyed, you need a good car. It's easy to find it, there are signs.

we will be staying in Cluj for four nights and one night in turda, how close to either of the cities are the falls,and is there public transport to take you to the falls
