You'll this place a couple of minutes away from Tacloban City. Locals mentioned that was ruined by the typhoon Haiyan. And is currently being repaired. Interior looks amazing. It's a good stopover to pray and rest for a while

A great stop in Tacloban - Samar route, Basey is just 1-hour away from Tacloban and can easily be reached via vans or jeepney from Tacloban's new terminal. Visiting heritage churches is a must when you're in this part of the country and Basey Church...More

Basey reminds me of a town on a hilltop in Italy. On top of the hill is the Spanish Catholic Church built in the 18th Century. It's too high up the hill to be flooded by Yolando and stones/buttresses are more massive than other Spanish...More

An hour escape from Tacloban. Used to be center of civilization ahead of Tacloban during Spanish occupation. The place was severely damaged by the onslaught of Yolanda, however, it did not get enough media mileage.
