The Leyte Landing Memorial is a memorial to the landing of American General Douglas MacArthur and his men at Red Beach. The memorial was erected in tribute to MacArthur’s fulfillment of his promise to return to the Philippines after it was occupied by the Japanese during World War II in the Philippines.

The MacArthur landing memorial national park commemorates the historic landing to liberate Philippines from the Japanese on 20 Oct. 1944. Located in Palo on Leyte island. Few vendors around selling soft drinks, water and ice cream. Worth a visit if in Tacloban. Open park. No...More

A park by the red beach where General McArthur landed to help liberate Philippines from the Japanese. The park has a few memorials about but the main one is the one with General McArthur walking through the water with his men. Plenty of grassy areas...More

Nice place to stroll after taking photos. Walking distance from the Oriental hotel at Palo , Leyte. You could also buy fresh buko juice at nearby kiosks after taking a walk.

If you're in Leyte, make sure to visit this place--the place most of us have only seen in history books. Granted, it's just a park with some statues on it, but it commemorates an important event in Philippine history which means it's definitely worth seeing....More

It's just a memorial site. You will only see statues and some signage. Nothing to really see. But if you want to visit historical site, this is worth it. There are a lot of people that take pictures there so you have to take turns....More
