Fortunately we didn't walk going here. Our van parked some 30 meters away. The place is not maintained. Aside from the trees, the area does not provide any shade to visitors so if you must, go in late in the afternoon.

I had the pleasure of celebrating m brothers birthday in RIO, 3 of my brothers and myself went on vacation in celebration of a brothers birthday. We had an exquisite time. The Atlantica Copacabana is a nice hospitable hotel. English speaking but I encourage you to practice your Portugese. You must see Christ the Redeemer Statue and dining at the... More

just looking at the size of the statue and how high up the mountain it is brings pure amazement on how could they build such a structure. The gift shop and the ride to the top are also amazing. Truly a wonder of the world.

Let's get this straight from the start - this is not the Christo in Rio! - in fact pretty far from it. However if you are perhaps stopping of in San Fernanado La Union on route to Laoag or Vigan or Pagudpud and you are anywhere near the centre of town this will only take you twenty minutes to walk... I was excited to see the Philippine version of Christ the Redeemer. I believe this was constructed from the funds of a private family, but opened to the public. You can charter a tryke driver from San Fernando city, but you will have to walk the extra few meters uphill, but the tricycle can't make it. It is quite an... More

This attraction is very well organised to get as many people through as possible. Thee are enormous volumes of people who visit this attraction so leave at least half a day to travel to the attraction and then be shuttles up the step mountain side. It can get very crowded at the top so viewing time is quite squashed with... More
