In the interest of full-disclosure, we did not go on the tour. We were told the next tour was 30 minutes away, and the tour was 1:15 long…”because there’s a lot to listen to.” Uh uh….I have better things to do. We were the only...More

While vacationing in Skaneateles, NY, stopped in Auburn to visit the Seward House and Harriet Tubman home/museum. Both were interesting but the Seward home was a real surprise. There is a historical connection to both of these attractions so see both if you can!

Thanks for your feedback. Jeff Ludwig, Director of Education, does a wonderful interpretation of the Seward family and we are fortunate to have him on our team!

Well worth your time. I think the tour was about 45 minutes. The guide was very interesting and knowledgeable. I learned quite a bit and had fun while doing it! Very interesting man, Mr. Seward.

The interconnection among William Seward, Harriet Tubman, and even Millard Fillmore was expressed here and in the surrounding area (Fillmore's log cabin has been restored at Fillmore Glen state Park). Seward was so much a part of the power structure in the 1860s and the...More

A beautiful home and garden tour! Alyssa, our tour guide, filled us in on family dynamics, political history, how to host a 19th century dinner party, explained all the beautiful furnishings, art, books, etc., the conspiracies, and how the homestead eventually became a museum. We...More

This was a very interesting visit. We learned a lot about Seward and his family. The house and grounds were beautiful. I thought admission was a little expensive.
