- Fredric JohnDubai, United Arab Emirates848 contributionsNew Mines View Park experienceAs a typical tourist attraction in Baguio, it keeps on improving every time I visit. Now, they had some flower shops on the alley way walking to the viewing point. The dogs and the horses photo op is still there. Expect a lot of visitors anytime which is good for Baguio tourism I guess.Visited October 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 20 November 2023
- Byaheng-oldiesHong Kong, China688 contributionsDisappointing Tourists spot.I’ve been several times now and every time I come here things changed so badly. This time they charged 10 pesos per head and the worse part is it became a shopping spots for plants where people seldom even notice them! Toilet facilities are grossly dark and dirty. It’s very unwelcoming to locals and foreign tourists alike! The only positive side of it is the view.Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 20 April 2024
- VincentVega34Melbourne, Australia41 contributionsGreat view, shame about the restThis is our first visit here for 10 years. How times have changed this place. What used to be a moderately busy tourist spot with a couple of dozen pasalubong outlets has turned into an overcrowded, congested marketplace with a viewing platform. First there is the car park grifters charging 50 pesos to park. Then an “environmental fee” of 10 pesos to enter. Add more to use the cr. Now fight your way through the hundreds of vendors taking up every square inch of space to reach the area where you can have a photo with Philippine icons like a st.bernard dog or a horse with pink hair. You can even hire an igorot outfit for authenticity. When you reach the viewing platform keep fighting for a space to take a photo and wait patiently while groups take 300 photos of each other with each other’s phones. The view is well worth seeing but the rest is a perfect example of tourism mismanagement. Is it worth it? We think not. Most definitely will not return here and cannot recommend.Visited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 4 May 2024
- VigswamSingapore, Singapore1,043 contributionsBeautiful ViewsCame here first thing in the morning. It was very near to our AirBnB at Monterrazas village. Many shops and stalls to navigate past before getting to the view point. The views are really nice and recommend to come in the morning to get a nice cool breeze.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 8 August 2024
- ChuckB0807Makati, Philippines152 contributionsMines View Park still the MVP of vantage pointsThis tourist attraction is where you can pee the cleanest, and buy trinkets and food the cheapest. This used to be the only place where you can have a photo op with the huge St. Bernard dog (who stunk) but now this huge dog can be seen in a lot of nooks in Baguio, and they smell nice nowadays. But I think of all the vantage points from where you can have an overlooking view of Baguio, this one still takes the cake. It has a gentler slope too so it won’t hurt the knees of the elderly.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 31 August 2024

Summer is the best time to watch the sunrise for clearer skies.
You have to arrive as early as 4:30am to witness the breaking of dawn. The transition between the beautiful indigo night sky to the blended orange, red, and indigo sky of the breaking dawn. Plus the scent of pine trees, cold air and the taste of warm coffee would be perfect for this experience! After watching the majestic sunrise in Mines View Park, you can have a heavy breakfast at one of the restaurants outside Mines View Park, their bulalo is a must try!

Mines View Park is an overlook park on the northeastern outskirts of Baguio in the Philippines, which is 5 kms from city center, worth visiting for awesome views and especially watch the sunrise .I would suggest to come here after visting Botanical Garden, the Mansion House, Wright Park, and the Pacdal Circle.Worth visiting when you are in Baguio.

Be very careful when parking along the street heading to Mines view Park.
The local who assisted us to park on the street was no where to be found when we returned to our car 2 hours after. Our car plate was missing and we found a violation ticket from the local city gov't citing us for illegal parking. We need to pay for the fine at their satellite office near Burnham Park and surprisingly, it is open even on a Sunday. Yeah, this happened to us on a Sunday. So this must be their strategy to generate income.
The stores nearby won't tell you that's parking there is illegal. They will just be bystanders and let you pay the price. This is a very malicious scheme. Be warned and be careful.
Note: there's no visual signages that say No Parking anywhere where we parked

The entrance fee to the park is cheap but since the place was congested with tourist I was not able to enjoy the sightseeing for a long time. It only took me a couple of minutes to see the view and roam around the park. When I went in there the viewing deck is filled with tourist. The traffic to and from the park is like in Manila since most of the visitors brought their vehicles.

Taking up Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management made me realized how I was missing the beauty of my own country, the Philippines. This course truly opened my eyes to what’s in front of me, so If you were to ask me what my dream country is, I will proudly say Philippines. There is nothing I would rather visit than the breathtaking attractions here in my own country and first on my list is the beauty of Bataan, which unexpectedly captured my heart the moment I saw it in pictures. I would like to go there someday.
At my age, the farthest I’ve been is in Baguio City, I can say that it is also a great vacation place. It has plenty of beautiful attractions and a mountain town of universities and resorts. It is called the “City of Pines” and particularly popular in summer due to unusually cooler weather. I stayed at a small Hotel which sadly I can remember the name anymore. My family and I went to Burnham Park, where we rented a bike and just enjoyed the view while sitting on the ground there. Then we went to Mines View Park, took a picture with the famous big dog named St, Bernards, wore their ethnic wardrobe, did horseback riding and took plenty of pictures to the spectacular view of the park. We also bought souvenirs in the park. The next day, we went to La Trinidad, Strawberry Farm in Benguet. We picked plenty of strawberries on the farm and took pictures. We also tried their famous strawberry ice cream and taho which I enjoyed the most. I really hope I can go back there just to eat their strawberry ice cream and taho again. During our last day, we went to a church and went shopping for souvenirs across Baguio. I also love the house mountain view in Baguio. It is overall a great trip experience and I can say that what I enjoyed the most is the climate in Baguio. It is indeed relaxing, and you can feel like you’re in a different country.

View is still outstanding but gets to be so crowded that you can’t take a decent photo anymore without asking for space from other tourists. The horses seems a little stressed that we did not avail a picture out of pity. A place to buy souvenirs and flowers but would recommend anyone to buy from a place where s group will last visit since they almost offer the same product with different stories and prices.

Too many tourists and overly saturated with vendors. I didn’t spend a lot of time here as there is too many people for comfort. The entrance or environmental fee was Php 10 only for adults. I hope they’ll implement a maximum capacity limit so the visitors can enjoy better.

I’ve been to this place last year with my family and it was a great experince. Even though the place is a bit crowded and full of commercial stalls (not a big deal though), the view when you reach the deck is priceless and picturesque! Will highly recommend to visit specially for the first timers in Baguio. You will definitely love the view!

Mines View Park Hotel has air conditioning?
How’s the weather during summer?
What is the temperature on July to August?
Written 7 June 2018
Baguio City is often cool in the evenings and mornings so you don't really need air conditioning. It can actually be very cold from November through February, to the point you'll need sweaters and jackets. Summer in the US is the opposite in the Philippines. It's usually raining from July through September. That's the monsoon season in the Philippines and can be extremely slippery driving up the mountains to Baguio.

There are jeepneys with Mines View signs that will take you directly to this place and their terminal is located at Lower Mabini Street fronting Danes Bakeshop. Fare is around
Php12.00 or Php10.00 and travel time is 5 to 10 minutes.

Hallo piff07.
Written 2 September 2016
Hola. From CUBAO, Quezon City where all the bus companies to the north are located it will take you 8 hours to VIGAN and 10 hours to Laoag. Mount Pinatubo on the other hand is in central Philippines and you will have to go to the City of San Fernando or Angeles City (Clark Field) to arrange private tours to Mount Pinatubo. Enjoy the Philippines!
