Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We took this tour and did not know what to expect. We boarded the motorboat a group of about 22, very comfortable and the driver was very knowledgeable of the routes and the water. The translator was very informative and knowledgeable, willing to answer any questions. First we visited the Uros floating islands, surreal experience to see a whole culture of people living in the middle of the lake. Definitely tourism helps support the community by purchasing their hand made knits, pottery crafts and goods. It would be so interesting to study this culture further. Then we took a long boat ride to Tequille island, literally is in the middle of this immense lake. We had to hike a very steep road, we saw an elderly lady walking behind us on a zig zag motion so we tried t and made the hill more tolerable. We visited the local people who are an equally interesting culture. They survived from what they grow and fish. The males do most of the knitting of their crafts. Here you definitely want to purchase scarfs or hats they were beautiful and you can find alpaca and wool knits. I didn’t bring any money and I regret that, we ate lunch there: local trout perfectly cooked, potatoes and rice with Aji sauce delicious.
The boat ride is long over 2 1/2 hours made it a very long day, just to give you an idea how big is the lake we only explored about 1/8 of the lake and the lake is the size of the entire island of Puerto Rico.
If you don’t mind the long day is a well worth experience I know I will cherish this memory forever.

We arrived in Cusco and ended up staying in Pacha Hostel, which also runs Pacha Expeditions. After shopping around for tours we decided to book the 2 day, 1 night tour, staying in Amantani for the evening, with Pacha Expeditions.

The tour was outstanding, just the right amount of time as a group and time to explore on your own. The natural beauty of the islands along with the history and culture of their inhabitants made this an amazing a trip!

I would highly recommend this tour booked with Pacha Expeditions to anyone that wants a closer look at these amazing places!

It was an excellent experience. I strongly recommend this tour to the people who have little time like one or two days in Puno. Also they have a 20% student discount which I found very useful. All of the staff was very helpful. The guide explained a lot of things both in english and spanish fluently. Take it safely and enjoy it! PS: Dont forget to bring sunscreen and adequate clothing for hot and cold.

Excellent tour.
The walk up to the market place in Taquile is a bit difficult because of the altitude.
The lunch was very good.
Only negative was sitting in the fast boat for one hour waiting for the rest of the passengers.

Visiting the Uros Islands and the homestay in Amantani was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone. However, be aware that there is ALOT of uphill walking involved. This activity is for fit people - NOT for older or out of shape folks at all. Also, be aware that you’ll be spending A LOT of time on an extremely slow boat going from point to point. Not a good use of time if your vacation it limited.

It was a wonderful day trip to Taquile island. The guide was very informative and took care of us very well. The lunch that was included in the tour was fantastic. They gave us a quinoa soup and trout. Both were very delicious. Thank you for the tour, we will never forget the natural wonder of Lake Titicaca.
