Lake Sandoval is reached via a jungle hike on a muddy trail. In the rainy season (we were there in June; the dry season) the trail might be impassible. Still, ours was a serpentine path avoiding all the mud holes; but it's fun! You'll board...More

This was the highlight of our amazon trip. We saw cayman, river otters, macaws and many other birds. Enjoying a reasonably priced cold beer at the shop afterwards was a bonus as well. My only suggestion to them is to upgrade that path in. It...More

Only paddle canoes on this lake keep it tranquil and allow for an up-close viewing of exotic birds, caimans, otters, monkeys, snakes, sloths and unpredictable other wildlife. Well worth spending the night in one of the quaint lodges.

It's a wonderful place. We could see otters, monkeys, birds, turtles... it was really nice. We went on a trip organized by wasai, with two other people and a nice guide. At the end of the day we were tired, but happy

Took a short walk from the river followed by a guided row boat around the lake (and a quick swim!) The scenery is stunning, and the opportunity to see so many jungle animals in their natural, unspoiled habitat was amazing. It's very sunny and very...More

We canoed around the lake and saw beautiful birds, turtles and butterflies. As with wildlife trips it is hit or miss on what you will see that day. Getting to the lake was an adventure also. It was a 3 k hike through the jungle...More
