Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The market is a series of individual kiosks that offer a wide variety of Peruvian handicrafts. Textile products are particularly good. Many of them are handmade in the town. Town is also famous for its marinera festival. The marinera is a famous Peruvian dance

I went during a festival ( cannot remember which one) in July. It's not too far from chiclayo. I enjoyed walking around the different stalls to see the crafts. Although they sold similar items sold at other market, the festive atmosphere made it memorable. I would go back again, and I would bring more soles.

The Monsefu market itself has maybe 20 small stalls with mostly typical Peruvian knicknacks, but the town has very talented reed weavers who make beautiful high quality hats that are very inexpensive, although you may need to search for the right fit. Also a great selection of woven bags, purses, and napsacks. Also large, high quality
hammocks and macrame items and some furniture. The quality of the vases and ceramics varies widely with a few high quality brightly finished pieces but mostly more typical earthen items. Market had a couple of street food vendors on Sunday but not on Wednesday. Also some beautiful murals to pose by for photos.

Excellent a huge variety of handmade products, straw hats, hand-embroidered textiles. Every traveler visiting Lambayeque should not miss a shopping stop at MONSEFU.
