We took the CL1 Rainforest + Monkeys + Colonial Fort + Gatun Locks. We met our tour guide Alex and driver Felix exactly where they told us to meet at 8:45. There were 20 of us on the bus. As we went past the new locks and out to San Lorenzo Park Alex explained all about the history and sites... More

Booked a private tour with Alimiza tours via My Friend Mario from the cruise port in Colón to the Gatún Locks and Panama City for group of 20 friends traveling on the Celebrity Equinox. We were met at the port by Rey and his driver. We heard a lot of the history of the town of Colón, as well as... More

This was a tour organised by one of the members of the Roll Call on Cruise Critic for our Celebrity Equinox cruise - an ideal way of matching up with others to reduce cost of tours off the cruise ship. We took a tour of the existing Panama locks, the original cutting by Ferdinand de Lessups and then onto the... More

Carlos and his driver "Chino" were our guides for a visit to the Gatun Locks, a ride through the jungle and a visit to the ruins of the Spanish Fort San Lorenzo. Carlos was thoroughly knowledgeable about the Canal's history and workings, as well as what is planned with the expansion of the locks underway now. The ride through the... More

We were scheduled to visit the Gatun Locks, the Waterfall and a visit to the Embera Village. By popular request the Locks visit was cut short to leave more time for the other parts which was a great decision. Met by Embera we traveled by Canoe to the Waterfall. Quick dip in the Lagoon. Then Back into the Canoe to... More

Our cruise ship docked in Colon Panama, and we met the tour bus outside of the port fenceline. Our small tour of 12 met the air conditioned bus, and traveled to the Panama Canal and the view of the Gatun Locks for about an hour. We were able to see ships transect the locks and move toward the Pacific. We... More

We booked our Almiza Tour- by my friend Mario ahead of time in conjunction with our Celebrity Cruise on the Equinox. The medium sized tour bus and guide met us at the cruise port. The bus was very comfortable with a good air conditioning system and bottled water was provided. Our tour guide spoke very good English and was very... More

Our tour guide was Mario, one of the many(?) Mario's with the company. We took a boat ride through Gatun Lake and all of it's little islands which are full of wildlife. We approached a couple of tiny islands and as soon as the boat got close you could see all the shaking of the trees and bushes as the... More

We took the CL1 tour which included the rain forest, Gatun Locks and San Lorenzo fort. Our guide Alexis was excellent and gave us a wonderful experience at all three places and several in between. I would highly recommend this over the big bus tours offered by the cruise ships.
