This isn't somewhere you would make a special trip to see, but it's quite an interesting stop between Wadi Dharbat and Misrat. Trees and vegetation obscure a lot of the view of the sinkhole, but it is huge and the flocks of birds were lovely.

In fact, this is not a very captivating place. You can see this huge hole in the ground, but there are many better places in Oman. What interested me was the incredible number of birds, their songs and songs were even dominated by people's conversations. It's worth going there for these birds. And the flowers.

The cave is huge and a nice view, but there just isn't much to do there. I have heard that there may be a way to climb down in there but it was too hot for that kind of exploring when we went.

Salalah is famous for its green and caves! No wonder why! This place is real beauty however getting down into the cave is a bit of risky business!

For adventure seekers it will be a good experience to climb down the sink hole.for a family trip it gives a magnificent view of this deep hole and surrounding greenery. We saw a few young men climbing down. But seems very tough.

There is a small path down to see the sink hole from a distance but really you cannot see that much and it is difficult to know what exactly you are looking at.

Google maps work hard as there has been substantial overhauling of highways that has happened. Once we reached there, it was good, but nothing extra ordinary. Since you cannot see down very clearly, you don’t get an idea of what exactly it is. It looks like looking down between the mountains from the top, that too only till certain distance. Vertical vision is very limited and hence we were not able to appreciate what it actually was.

Honestly, the place is not worth visiting. The sink hole is hardly visible from the top. There is no access to the place. In case you have seen the sink hole near Muscat, just do not waste your time visiting there. There is nothing to see.
