Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The program of our guide included verbatim - "Sightseeing tour of Salal with a visit to the Sultan Qaboos Mosque and His Majesty's Palace." We drove to the closed gates of this supposed landmark, passed a beige wall made of limestone that barely made the minarets and Usho visible! From the palaces I saw in Dubai and Muscat, of course, I knew full well that we could not get into the grounds, let alone inside, but at least from afar you can see those palaces! She didn't even take a picture! Breeding and wasting time, as well as a trip to the beach with flamingos!🤣There is a "kolkhoz" market (bazaar) nearby, where you can buy incense on weight for souvenirs!👍

What a beautiful speculator residence. The sheers mountain in the background the vivid colours. The water in the front is sapphire blue. Would love to see the inside.

SultanS Palace is one of buildings what you have to see during your trip to Salalah. In morning time, if you are not muslim, you can go inside. It`s absolutely great building, excellent architecture. The second time I was there in nighttime-wonderful!

This can be skipped as there is nothing more to see but the outside wall of the palace, which does have nice emblems. Otherwise you can see the top of a mosque and a clocktower. thats all.

Impressive area of the building that you can imagine from outside: no access allowed. Nice garden surrounding the palace.

The palace is a beautiful building, surrounded by a green garden. They do not allow visitors inside, so it is only worth driving by to get a view of the palace.

It's worth driving past the Sultan's Palace and stopping to take a photo if you're in the area anyway, but be aware that this is not a tourist attraction or a place that can be visited. As such, there is not all that much to see beyond the impressive gates and the tops of the minarets & domes of the mosque inside the Palace complex. There is also a clock tower. Most of the Palace can't be seen at all as it is hidden behind high walls. The area around it is nicely landscaped with lots of greenery, trees & flowers. Not worth going out of your way for, but chances are you will visit nearby Hafa souq so might aswell make a stop here.

The palace is one of the amazing land marks of the sultanate with its beauty that mixes between the modern and traditional style.

It is a restricted place for entering inside but nice to have a look to it from outside

Wow what a place to visit, it is absolutely beautiful and a must see if your visiting the area. It is so big and spacious, the grounds are magnificent, well tendered and immaculate. It is unfortunate that you cannot see the inside of the wonderful piece of architecture. You must see both sides to the Palace as from the waterfront the view is unbelievable. Clear waters and the yacht that was there was fantastic. Watching the guards marching up and down was lovely, don't know how the manage it in full uniform in such hot weather. You need to spend a couple of hours there to take in all the scenery.
