Ile Des Pins beauty is excellent. A short walk from the wharf ( where our tender boat from the Pacific Pearl P&O cruise ship docked) is a safe beach for snorkeling and swimming. The locals were extremely welcoming and prepared a free meal for visitors, as is there custom, slow cooked in banana leaves. It was delicious and we gracefully... More

I think this is my fourth visit back to this island, and really doesn't get boring at all. Perfect weather, gorgeous water to swim or snorkel in and just a fabulous day out that really costs you very little to enjoy. Family friendly to senior friendly. What more could you ask for. BTW I have only been here on a... More

The lagoon is wonderful. The colours are amazing. A gem. The water is so clear and warm. Did some paddle boarding all around the lagoon. Great spot.

Perhaps I am jaded by some of the other easily accessible beautiful snorkeling locations both in New Caledonia and nearby countries, but I confess I was somewhat underwhelmed by the Piscine Naturelle. It's lovely enough. And there are some fish. But al in all, the bit of reef in the pool is small and the fish are the common reef... More

To get to the natural pool (piscine naturelle) one needs to wade through the stream, wear waders/reefers rather than slippers as this makes it a lot easier. The water is warm and clear and there are quite a few fish and even several white Moray Eels around. As we stayed at Le Meridien we visited the pool several times and... More

Beautiful scenery and easy walk at low tide from Le Meridian even for the oldies. Water very cold but worth a swim.

We were staying at Le Meridien and this wonder was only a short 20 minute walk - the walk is easier at low tide. We visited on 2 separate days; one crystal clear warm sunny day, the other overcast and a little cooler, and for each the experience was slightly different but still fantastic. Underwater photos are best on the... More

Visited this spot twice over 2 days and loved it. It was my first time snorkeling and it was amazing. We saw a number of fish when snorkeling that we had seen in the aquarium a few days earlier. Definitely worth a visit. Easier to walk to in low tide.

Whilst not the most amazing snorkelling we've done (Cook Islands by far the best) it was still worth the short walk and did not disappoint

The rock enclosed lagoon is fantastic with critstal clear water, coral and an array of tropical fish to view. The walk in can be a bit of a challenge as you need to wade across a channel of water which can be thigh deep depending on the tide. Sign posting is a bit ify but just follow the locals, its...
