It is an absolute amazing view but difficult to find due to the lack of proper signs. One needs a good map because there are not always GPS or cell phone coverage. This is a general problem in Namibia

We had to get a permit and the staff at the tourism office were very friendly and helpful. It really helped us not to miss anything of importance. The markers were very visible and the explanations interesting. We also had a beer at Goanikontus, a...More

What weird plants these are. Male and female are separate, and they are fertilised by beetles and the wind. The plants can live to be 2k years old. They start of with two green leaves. Even after five years this is all you see. Then...More

This route takes you through some undeniably wonderful desert scenery. Stop at the oasis for a cold drink & see some of the local domestic animals roaming the gardens. The Welwitschia's are quite something to behold. An absolute MUST when in Swakopmund.

Learning fun and excitement to 👀 this special plant that only exits in Namibia and that is 400 plus years old.

These trees and yes they are trees up to 2000 years old are found only in Namibia. They don't look like trees but interesting to see. Before you go you must get a permit/day pass to enter this area. You pass by the moon landscape...More
