Nose plugs and solid shoes recommended. Seriously. Don't go if you have a very sensitive sense of smell and if you do go make sure you wear proper shoes or you will be soaked in stagnant fishy warm water.

When I arrived at the fish market late; there was only one vendor still selling; he cut open and gutted the fish I chose while feeding me free grilled sardines! The restaurant on the square fried it for me and served it with bread and...More

The fish market is close to the port but it is quite dirty there, so better move to the square before the Medina, where you can find about 15 small sea food restaurants and have a nice meal. Do bargain for the prices!

We ate here 2-3 times during our 3-day stay. Fresh fish at reasonable prices, grilled up in front of us. Rustic and picnic-like. Part of the fun is the harbor feel and "mess."

This local fish market was a great surprise for us. All local restaurants close at 4 tops, so if you wish to eat fish, after this time, this is the place. Choose carefully where you will eat. We had lunch at nr14 (all restaurants have...More

Of course one has to haggle, as in any market. Just state what you are prepared to pay, say clearly that the amount must include drink[s] and bread. Ask them to show you what they will put on the plate for cooking. Then choose from...More
