Not as hectic or crazy as Marrachech, we enjoyed wandering around and shopping without the crowds and hawkers. Worth visiting and the prices are better than Marrakech, too.

The medina of Essaouira is too small to get lost, but big enough to stroll around for hours. One of the nicest I know In Morocco. Lots of interesting shops and fortunately of a good diversity and quality.

It's about 2 hours from Marrakesh, costs about 1000 Dhs for private car. Ours was easily arranged by our Dar (small hotel).
