The staff at this hammam was very clear upfront about what they were offering. So we were not surprised by the difference with the more lush Turkish hammams. However, what we both... read more

A great traditional hammam. If you want a European spa, as many posts on this site seem to, then this is not for you. But if you want to be in a real hammam then this is the place to go. I disregarded the bad posts and was right to do so. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I... More

Service désagréable, horrible expérience : il faisait froid, le masseuse faisait des économies de savon noir, le gommage a duré vingt minutes. A fuir ! Awful staff, horrible experience: we were cold, they barely used black soap, the scrub lasted less than 20 minutes. Don't go!

Went to Hammam Mounia on a recent visit to Essaouira. Our hotel was not too far and we managed to locate it when we were in the medina. Not sure why there are so many negative reviews. Me and my friends really enjoyed our time there. Went the first day for the typical scrub/hammam which was only 100MAD and thought... More

I was there on 2/1/2014 for a one hour massage. I have had massages and have visited hamans a lot in Morocco in the past time but this was really a bad experience. I had serious doubts about the hygiene in the room where I got the massage. Apart from that, the so called " masseur " , Abdel or... More

Without a doubt the worst Hammam experience ever. The place is filthy, scrubbing materials, soaps and shampoos of a very low quality and continuously reused. The place was too small for the number of customers which meant sitting around naked on white plastic mould covered chairs. The best part of this 1.5hr experience was coming back to our lovely Riad... More

At the end of a cycling holiday in Morocco I was very much looking forward to a full traditional hammam experience. Having enjoyed 2 previously in a public hammam in Marrakech I knew what to expect. Sadly this failed to deliver in so many ways including basic hygiene. Where to start ..... They took a booking for 3 gents at... More

The staff at this hammam was very clear upfront about what they were offering. So we were not surprised by the difference with the more lush Turkish hammams. However, what we both did not like about the male and female treatments were the dirty rooms we were both in. The floors and walls had lots of stains on them and... More

We were told by our hotel manager that this was the best hammam in Ess although having read the TA reviews I was sceptical. But on his recommendation we went - it was fairly close to the Riad we were staying in (the Wind Palace, very good) - and in summary it was quite good. We paid 350dirham each (about... More

Just had a fantastic hammam here. Real good scrub down and friendly personal service in an atmospheric setting. Okay, it's geared to tourists and more expensive as a result. But the advantage of that is that you get a more personal service and are shown the ropes. My assistant Mohammad was very nice, asked a few friendly questions, but not... More

This review is about men's treatment. It was my 2nd hammam experience in Morocco. The place is small (there are two stone beds for scrubbing, two for massage), not very clean, a bit smelly. Not hot nor warm. Even lying on the stone, it was not warm enough for me. With the same price, you can enjoy nicer hammam.
