Astana is the residency of the Governor of Sarawak. It sits at the northern shore of the Sarawak river but is best seen and appreciated from the Esplanade on the southern shore of the river or from the bridge that crosses the river.

This building goes way back to the Brooke's era. it is really beautiful and majestic, only to be dwarfed by the new DUN. At night, it is really beautifully lighted, especially during festivals.
