For some, the following names vaguely refer to (more or less) the same place: Kubah National Park, Matang Wildlife Centre, Sarawak Wildlife Rehabilitation Sanctuary Centre. Don't be confused when you hear some locals who simply refer to the place as "Matang orang utan centre/park". By...More

I visited mount Serapi @ Kubah National Park on 1st Dec 2017, together with my wife and two boys (12 & 15). The park located around 50mins drive from Kuching city. As it was a public holiday, we had a pleasure drove. We departed from...More

There are 3-4 trails. Brought niece and nephew (10&11 years old) along. The lady at the registration counter was very helpful. She briefed us of the trail and made sure we had comfortable shoes on. We took the waterfall trail and took slightly less than...More

This will be a mixed review. The natural environment of the park is very interesting and well worth a visit. The night visit to the frog pond was amazing. The main trail, which is a road to communication facilities at the top of the mountain,...More

We stayed in the hostel accommodation which is basic but functional with a well equipped kitchen including a gas stove and a fridge freezer. There's a large common area too which was nice to hang out with other tourists. The trails aren't easy, at least...More

Matang worth a visit - we spent 4 hours there - and then did the hike back to Kubah through the park. Kubah had good accommodation/hostel. Has a kitchen for cooking. Need to take your own food in with you as nowhere to buy there....More

It's a 1-1.5 hour trek to the waterfall. The trek is easy, and the waterfall is a great picnic place. We visited on a weekday so there were not many people visiting. Would have done the summit trail if we had the time.

Hi There Sorry for the late reply. Yeah it is. The guides take you out at night, so I'd definitely do it alone. If you're worried, you can stay in Kuching and catch an Uber in and out ... It's only about $20.00
