Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lots of energy and smiling faces along the waterfront. The place especially comes alive in the evenings, with food stalls, street entertainers, lighted buildings, and more. The place to stroll in the evening. The only downside is that you'll have trouble finding a place serving beer unless you head one or two streets inland from the river.

Kuching has become a place of rampant gangsterism, with commoners frequently coming under their threats due to their erratic driving behaviors. Tourists were known to be bashed, and their cars (those driving) were stopped by gangsters in the middle of the road. It is increasingly unsafe to come here.

A nice place to stroll in the evening, watch the sunset and maybe some interesting stalls may be set up. These are usually good value as they do not have overheads to pay. Local eateries to have a very local style dinner. Just go for something cooked is safer for the tummy.

Such a happening place at night along the waterfront. We enjoyed the water light show. There were many mascots and performance. One of the mascots offer to shape balloons eg flower. We simply enjoyed the vibes. There were many food stalls and don't forget to try kek lapis Sarawak!!

I was visiting Kuching, Sarawak, MALAYSIA (Borneo Island) last Saturday, 29th of June, 2024. .This was the scenary at the early sunrise beside the famous River Sarawak. There were many joggers and families walking, running happily along the river bank.

Went at night. Pretty but definitely very tourist-y.
There is a water fountain show at night that is kinda pretty.
Had nasi aruk from one of the fried rice vendor, as recommended by Grab driver. Not bad the taste. Pretty mild flavor but still nice.
Also had the gula apong ice cream. Mid to long queue. Taste good but definitely very sweet because of the brown sugar.
Can be difficult (but not impossible) to find Grab back to hotel, unless you are staying in Waterfront Hotel then you can just walk there

Try to go around evening or after 5pm. Lots of eateries and street performance. Do not miss out the water show around 8.30pm. A great walk along the waterfront and the locals are very friendly too.

We had lots of fun walking around here during both day and night time. The place is beautiful with fantastic infrastructures (Dun,Mosque and Bridge). We didn't go to the other side using a sampan because the water didn't look that nice, it was very brown like tea tarik and polluted with rubbish. :-(
Please wear your mask while walking. Also, there was no water show/ musical fountain when I was there.

Best place in Kuching to be especially after sunset.
Stunning views is Darul hana bridge and mosque and Kuching iconic building.
Many shops along and all these activities are free.
Don’t miss the 3 light shows at 8.30, 9.30 and 10.30pm.
A must visit place in Kuching, try staying nearby.

I was visiting Kuching, Sarawak, MALAYSIA (Borneo Island) early in December 2023. And there was this tallest flag pole in the country recently constructed and completed. Ready for official opening in the eve of the New Year 2024. Wonderful scene. Great activities along the waterfront (Sarawak River). Lots of local foods and western foods as well. Must visit!
