I didn't see one headhinter the whole time i was there, but there are lots of human skulls lurking about, and a few shrunken heads. If you go here follow a tour group so your sure to see the culture dance. It doesn't happen everyday.
We were greeted on arrival and given a necklace each which made us feel very welcome. The cost was 45MR per person. We were met by our private tour guide, wee-wee and taken to a small enclosure with a stage. 4 people then showed us...More
I gave it 3 stars because of the historical values it shares but tour wise, very disappointing. The tour guide can't speak english well nor chinese, i was with Singaporeans friends who couldn't speak malay so it was hard for me to enjoy the tour...More
We had a fanstastic guide, were able to try some of the tools for living, and understood a lot more about the history of Kota Kinabalu and Borneo. A nice tour around the Village and the museum. Very interesting and everyone were helpful and nice.
We called here having a couple of hours to spare in the afternoon. Our guide was called Baby, and what a credit she was, her knowledge, sense of fun and obvious care for what she does shines through. It was a fun couple of hours...More

I would suggest Monsopiad Heritage Village since its been up for about 20 years now...the history on Monsopiad the Kadazan head hunter is very very interesting and you get to see the real skulls that Monsopiad beheaded 300 years ago. Apart from the guided tour, you will also be able to relax, enjoy and take part in the cultural dances performed daily at the village (10am/ 12pm/ 2pm and 4pm).
